Posting Data
Posting data is a crucial step in BeWo's Data Pipeline, allowing you to mark reviewed data as ready for inclusion in your CO2e emissions reports and dashboard visualizations. This article explains what posting data means, why it's important, and how to perform this action.
What Is Posting Data?
Posting data means that you have reviewed the data and are ready to include it in your reports. It's a way to control the reporting process, ensuring that only validated and approved data contributes to your emissions calculations and visualizations.
It is important that you post your data before beginning your reporting.
Why Post Data?
- Control Over Reporting: Posting gives you the ability to decide when data is included in your reports.
- Data Validation: Ensures that all data meets the requirements of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol before being reported.
- Trustworthy Reporting: Supports a transparent and reliable reporting process.
How to Post Data
Follow these steps to post your data:
Step 1: Navigate to the Vouchers View
- Go to the Data Pipeline section in your BeWo account.

What Happens When You Post Data?
When you post data:
-
Validation Checks: BeWo validates that all vouchers and lines have the correct format for reporting according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This includes:
- Checking emission factors.
- Verifying category allocations.
- Ensuring all required data fields are complete.
-
Data Status Update: The processing status of the data changes from Ready to Posted.
-
Inclusion in Reports: The posted data is now included in your emissions reports and dashboard visualizations.
For large quantities of data, it may take a couple of minutes to complete the posting action. You can monitor the progress by clicking the Refresh button to get the latest updates.
Tips for Posting Data
- Review Data Thoroughly: Before posting, make sure to review the data for accuracy and completeness.
- Fix Errors and Warnings: Address any errors or warnings before posting to ensure the data is valid.
