When integrating BeWo with your ERP system, it's essential to select the companies (legal entities) you want to include in your emissions reporting. This step is particularly relevant for Microsoft Business Central, where you may have multiple companies under a single ERP instance.

Choosing companies only applies to Microsoft Business Central integrations. If you are integrating with Visma E-conomic, you can skip this step.

Why Choose Companies?​

Many organizations consist of multiple legal entities or subsidiaries. By selecting specific companies to include, you can:

  • Tailor Your Emissions Reporting: Focus on the entities that are relevant to your sustainability goals.
  • Consolidate or Segment Data: Generate emissions data for individual companies or consolidate them for a group-wide overview.
  • Ensure Compliance: Meet regulatory requirements by reporting on the appropriate legal entities.

Choosing the right companies affects:

  • Scope Coverage: Ensures that emissions from all relevant entities are captured.
  • Data Accuracy: Including all necessary companies improves the completeness of your emissions data.
  • Consolidated Reporting: Allows for group-level reporting and analysis.

Selecting Companies from Business Central​

Follow these steps to select companies during the integration process:

  1. Access Company Selection

    After connecting your Microsoft Business Central account to BeWo, you will be prompted to select the companies you wish to include.

  2. Select companies

    • A list of companies associated with your Business Central account will be displayed.
    • Check the boxes next to the companies you want to include in the integration.

  3. Assign Companies to Organizations

    • Assign selected companies to either existing organizations within BeWo or create a new one.
    • This helps in organizing your emissions data and managing reporting structures.

Which Companies to Include?​

It's advisable to include all companies that are relevant to your financial reporting to maintain consistency. If you have a group structure with subsidiaries, we recommend including all your subsidiaries to ensure:

  • Consistency with Financial Reporting: Align your carbon accounting with your financial statements.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Capture emissions data across your entire organizational structure.
  • Simplified Consolidation: Ease the process of consolidating data for group-level reporting.

Troubleshooting​

Company Not Listed​

Possible Causes:

  • The company is not set up in your ERP system.
  • Access permissions may restrict visibility.

Solutions:

  • Verify Company Existence: Ensure that the company exists in your Business Central account.
  • Check Permissions:
    • Review user permissions in both your ERP and BeWo accounts.
    • Ensure that you have enabled access to all necessary companies.
